11.2.01 Grape Street Pub & Oops

No Comments 29 October 2001

Hi All,

Listen. Last night, when I told you all my name was Joy and I loved your
CD and wanted to know where I could see you play . . . well, it’s not
that I didn’t mean it, it’s just that, um, I accidentally forwarded an
email to the entire group. Sorry, y’all.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE GRAPE:
To make up for this glaring error, the boys and I will take the stage
this Friday (11.2.01) at the Grape Street Pub in the much maligned
Manayunk section of Philadelphia. In order to get into the spirit of my
mistake, I have renamed my band members for this show as follows:

Mike Frank will be Hope
Scott Bricklin will be Faith
Kevin Hanson will be Charity
and Erik Johnson will be Snuggle Bear

This night is the record release party for my friends, Pepper’s Ghost
and the evening opens with other friends, Love Syndicate (the Jim
Boggias will hit the stage around 10:30p), so come on out for a whole
night of damn good music.

The Recap:
Friday, 11.2.01 : 10p
Grape Street Pub
105 Grape Street : Manayunk, PA
215.483.7084

Also on the bill:
Pepper’s Ghost Record Release Party (congratulations, boys) plus Love
Syndicate

I would really appreciate as many of you coming out as possible. Thanks
as always.

Peace,
Jim

Boggia: 10.25.01 @ The Fire & 10.26.01 w/ Todd Rundgren

No Comments 23 October 2001

Hello Friends,

2 big shows this week. One of them is bigger than the other, but the
other is less expensive than the one. Something for everybody.

THE BIGGER ONE:
Seems I’ve been asked to open for Todd Rundgren this Friday (10.26.01)
at the Keswick. I’m not sure whether I was asked because of our similar
pop sensibilities or our similarly unmanageable hairstyles. Either way,
I’m flattered and honored. Show starts at 8p and while tix are $25 &
$28, parking is FREE.

THE LESS EXPENSIVE ONE:
For the financially challenged, I will also be performing at The Fire
this Thursday (10.25.01). Also on the bill are Pete Paladino, whom you
may know from his days with the Badlees and Steve Tannen, whom you may
know from his days in New York City. This one starts at 10p and the
friendly folks a the Fire may ask you for $5 at the door.

The Recap:
Thursday, 10.25.01 10p
The Fire @ The Philadelphia Bar & Grille
412 W.Girard Avenue : Philadelphia, PA
267.671.9298
http://www.iourecords.com/thefire/

with Pete Paladino and Steve Tannen

Friday, 10.26.01 8p
Keswick Theatre
Easton Rd. & Keswick Ave. : Glenside, PA
215.572.1340

Also on the bill: Todd Rundgren (he plays 2nd)

Next Week:
The band returns to the Grape for a Friday night (11.2.01) show that I
hope you all can make.

Peace,
Jim

PS: If anyone out there has a copy of the recent TNT Lennon Tribute,
could you email me at gofreda@webtv.net ? I’d like to get a copy.
Thanks

10.9.01:Cafe Eclectic:Montclair, NJ & 10.11.01:Pontiac Grille:Phila.

Hi Folks,

This Tuesday (10.9.01), I’ll be playing 2 shows to benefit the Red Cross
at Cafe Eclectic in Montclair, NJ. The shows are at 8p and 10p, they’re
ALL AGES, and I’ll be playing with Cafe Eclectic legend, Robert
Matarazzo.

This show is close enough for my New York City friends to make, so if
you’ve been waiting for a nyc appearance, this is just like that, except
it’s in Jersey. It will also be the 61st anniversary of the birth of
John Lennon, so you can expect me to go into my Lennon jukebox mode a
bit as well.

Then on Thursday (10.11.01), I return to the Pontiac Grille for a bit of
a late show. I’ll hit the stage around 11:15, other acts include Bob
Lowery and others other than me and Bob.

There have been a couple of changes recently at the Pontiac, so here’s
what to expect:

a) I will no longer have to get into a fight with the soundman.

and

b) If you like cola products, be sure to ask for PEPSI, not coke.

I look forward to the opportunity to mildly entertain you.

The Recap:
Tuesday, 10.09.01 : 8p & 10p
Cafe Eclectic
444 Bloomfield Avenue : Montclair, NJ

Benefits for the Red Cross with Robert Matarazzo (also JL’s birthday).
