World Cafe Live in Philly - 10.14.05

No Comments 28 September 2005

WORLD CAFE LIVE - PHILADELPHIA, PA - 10.14.05 - 10:30p:
What to do now that the Point has closed? Well, I couldn’t cope, so I left town (in fact, I’m in Athens, GA as I write this - check out the milkshakes at The Grill).
But it’s time for this musical fugitive to come home. But where to play in Philly now that there’s no Point? I decided since I’ve been away from home, I should play as close to home as possible. And the winner, at 6 blocks down and 2 blocks over, is World Cafe Live! I’ll be playing a LATE SHOW on Friday, 10.14.05 at 10:30p.
My show follows an early show by Richie Havens, so don’t be surprised to see some older folks in tie-dye talking about peace and love and brown acid on their way out. Remember - they’re more afraid of you than you are of them.

RED CROSS HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF FUND CD:
We’re still taking orders for the Red Cross Katrina Relief Fund disc through the end of the month. Thanks to everyone who has ordered already and fear not, the discs are on the way, it’s just taking a little longer while we’re on the road. If you’d like to order, go here. and click on the Buy It! link.
I’ve been having a great time on the road with Jump, Little Children - playing new cities and making new friends and fans, but I’m really looking forward to seeing the old folks at home. See you there.
Peace,
Jim

BENEFIT CD RE-RELEASED TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE RED CROSS HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF FUND:

I’m re-releasing the cd I put out earlier this year as a tsunami relief fundraiser in order to raise money for the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. It will be available for the month of September from my website. I’m sure most of you have already found a way to lend a hand, or at least a hand with cash in it, but this is a way you can do a little something extra and get some decent music to boot. You can go here to check out the cd and you can use the Buy It link to order.

SEPTEMBER EAST COAST TOUR OPENING FOR JUMP, LITTLE CHILDREN:

Philly - ‘bama, back again - doin’ a little east coast swing. Getting ready to play a bunch of dates this month opening up for the guys in Jump, Little Children as they have one last tour before saying goodnight. That’s the great thing about solo artists, kids - a solo artist can never breakup, though w’re more prone to breaking down. Looking forward to a month of new places, new fans and really expensive gas.

A bunch of these cities in the south I’ve never played before, so if you have buddies or kin down there, please encourage them to come out and say hi to the yankee.
