London Calling (Again)

No Comments 07 April 2008

SUNDAY, 4.20.08 – 6:30P – PORTOBELLO GOLD – LONDON, UK:
I’m heading back to London. So soon, you ask? Yes. Seems I’m going to master my new record at Abbey Road. While I can’t invite all my English fans to that, I do have some dates set-up.
First up. I eat the best pub lunch in London then start doing multiple sets at around 6:30p, on and off until around 10p. For those of you who were there when I played in ’06 – it’ll be another great night of originals and covers. Listen, sing-along and share a pint. To those of you who were there when I played a few weeks ago – THE P.A. HAS BEEN FIXED – so expect just as much fun with less hiss (I just thought the whole performance had an analog tape vibe to it). The folks who run the place did some juggling of the schedule to get me back in on such short notice, so please come out and let him know it was worth it.

MONDAY, 4.21.08 – 8P – 12BAR CLUB – LONDON, UK:
When I played some shows in London in February, I was a bit taken aback by seeing people at every show that I know from them coming to shows here in the States. Now it’s happening with the acts on the bill. I’m so happy they were able to squeeze me in at the 12Bar – my original London home – but even cooler is discovering that the high-kickin’, banjo-pickin’ Curtis Eller from NYC will be going on later that night. Come out early for my set, then we can grab some drinks and then watch Curtis. Then I’ve gotta run because I’m mastering the next morning.

?6. NYC’s Curtis Eller on at 10p.
WEDNESDAY, 4.23.08 – 9P – HALFMOON – – LONDON, UK:
If a place is good enough that the Rolling Stones, The Who, U2 and even Kate Bush (who never plays anywhere) have played there, it seemed rude to say “no” to a gig there (especially since I was the one who asked in the first place). I’ve heard great things about this place from multi-generational sources, so I’m excited to get up on their stage. This seems like a room that has a lot of bands, as opposed to solo guys, so friendly faces are most welcome.
The Recap:
Wednesday, 4.23.08 – 9p
