MONDAY, 10.27.08 - 9P - THE LIVING ROOM - NYC:
One last night at the Living Room to close out the October residency. Last week was something special - “Special Guest Night”. I was joined by Joy Askew, Conrad Korsch and Kate Ferber and it was glorious. So, in the tradition of Hollywood, this week I’m planning a sequel - “Special Guest Night 2 - Electric Boogaloo.” As with all sequels, the script will probably not be as good, some of the original stars may not take part due to squabbles over money, but the special effects will be much better. Don’t wait for the DVD.
Also, expect some ingenious method of keeping me informed of the progress of the Phillies in Game 5 of the World Series (if necessary) using musical cues of some kind (I haven’t really worked it out yet, it’s more an idea).

SATURDAY, 11.08.08 - 8P - COFFEE WITH A CONSCIENCE - WESTFIELD, NJ:
Trust me, you don’t want me building your house - or anyone else’s, for that matter. But I’m a big fan of Habitat for Humanity and so I’ll be joining Steve Tannen at the Coffee with a Conscience series to help raise some money for the cause.
No hammers, just hammer-ons. Okay, there probably won’t be any hammer-ons either, my Van Halen repertoire is sadly lacking.

SUNDAY, 11.09.09 - 6:30P - THE CENTER FOR MUSICAL AND CULINARY EXPLORATION - CHESTNUT HILL, PA:
A THIRD night of fine food, good music and great folks. The first two were big successes and people keep asking for more.
This show is already half full (I like to see the show as already half full instead of already half empty) and there are only 30 places, so contact Phil soon to ensure yourself a space.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
The Center for Musical and Culinary Exploration Presents: Jim Boggia
He is truly one of my favorites to pick up a guitar, sing songs, and be totally engaging. He is a vital artist.
Music + Food + Humanity
Combining three passions to create one unforgettable evening. Phil Roy’s home will be open to just 30 people for Sunday dinner and performance. The evening winds down and hopefully you have made a new friend or two. The music and the food ever memorable.
ABOUT THE SPACE:
Phil Roy resides and hosts these intimate dinner concerts in a 2200 sq. ft. artist studio near Chestnut Hill PA, designed by the prominent Philadelphia architect H. Louis Duhring in 1928. The building is an addition to its adjoining manor house originally constructed in 1852. From the 20 ft. palladian window with an iron balcony there are panoramic views of the beautiful grounds and sculpture. The grand room has a huge stone fire place and original hardwood flooring. A second level balcony overlooks the entire area. It is a “one of a kind”, amazing space. The sound of the room is almost cathedral like. I’m extremely excited to be hosting dinners and performances in this very special room.
For out of town attendees there are wonderful accommodations in the manor house or nearby.

SATURDAY, 11.15.08 - 7:30P - MEDIA THEATRE?- MEDIA, PA:
Concert for Critters? Isn’t that what happens every time I play music at home and my 5 cats listen in? Okay, 4 - Elvis always runs away. I would be lying if I told you this didn’t hurt my feelings.?
Oh, I see - this is a show to raise money for the Delaware Valley SPCA, which helps critters. The concert itself appears to actually be for PEOPLE (I have sat here for 5 minutes attempting to work in a ‘Soylent Green’ reference, to no avail).?
I’m bringing the full band for this one. We don’t get out much, we’re often confused for JD Salinger, so you should probably take this opportunity to have something to tell your grandkids (which you can do when you get home from the show). Bill Deasey kicks off the show and he’s damn good.?
Come help the cause for those with the paws.
