Mick Terry opens. He was also nice enough to put this event together. Here's how he describes it:
An evening of award winning food, followed by some stellar live music, courtesy of the awesome talent that is Mr Jim Boggia. (Check him out at www.myspace.com/jimboggia ). The evening will be held at The King Eddie in Stratford, yes, home of the 2012 Olympics and now host to a fantastic musical and culinary extravaganza, too!
The menu for this “House Concert” will include, for Starters, a sumptuous two course meal in the King Eddie’s superb restaurant, washed down with a short acoustic set from yours truly and then, for the main course, Jim will be doing what he does best; blowing the sonic cobwebs out of your ears. He will be playing a selection of tracks from his latest record (yes, it’s actually available on vinyl), “Misadventures in Stereo” and, if you ask him nicely, some notable covers, too. Those of you who have followed my career closely (Hi Mum & Dad) will know that Jim played and sang on my “Hoxton Song” track (www.myspace.com/mickeyterry ), so you will already know about his fantastic vocal abilities. Now, you get the chance to hear him in person and you get fed too; what’s not to like?
The tickets, priced at the low, low “I’m a friend of Mick Terry” discounted price of £20, for the combined meal/music event will be limited and strictly on a “first come, first served” basis (okay, enough of the culinary puns) so, please contact me directly to book your space in advance. There will also be a music only ticket, priced at £5, for anyone who is not able to make the food event, but, hey, as I always say “when the credit crunches, it’s time for the munchies”.
Please feel free to pass this mail on to all your music loving, good food eating friends.
