Happy New Year Everyone,

Hope your 2002 is off to an amazing start. I’m jumping into the new year
with great hope and excitement. Give it a couple of weeks and everything
should be back to normal.

NEW YORK CITY:
I start out the year in New York this Saturday, 1.5.02, when I return to
the Sidewalk Cafe for an 8p show. My apologies to those who came to my
recent non appearance at the Bitter End, this will not be a repeat
performance. I was actually at the Bitter End that night, but somebody
gave me this ring and when I put it on I became invisible. Really. For
this show, I will accept no unauthorised jewelry.

PHILLY:
Next Tuesday, 1.8.02, I assemble the Quintet for the first 2002
performance. I hope to assemble them for the first rehearsal of 2002
prior to that. Either way, Mike, Scott, Erik, Kevin and I will give a
performance that has the look and feel of a professional job. All at
semi pro prices!
Kevin Hanson’s Trio, The Kevin Hanson Trio, will open the evening, so
you can’t miss the evening even if you wanted to (he knows where you
live).

A very special thank you to all of the people who came out to the Tin
Angel on December 20th for the Harrisongs Benefit Concert, as well as to
all of the musicians and folks working behind the scenes to make it
happen. It was a beautiful night of music and, I hope, a fitting tribute
to a man and his music that has given so much to so many. Thank you one
and all.

Peace in the New Year,
Jim

Friday @ the Grape, Saturday @ The Dawson

No Comments 01 November 2001

Hey Boys and Girls,

A gentle reminder about this Friday’s (11.2.01) Jim Boggia Quintet show
at the Grape Street Pub.

Please come.

We’ll be premiering TWO NEW SONGS. You may ask: What are these new songs
about? Well, one of them I’m still writing lyrics for, so it could be
about anything. The other one is about three and a half minutes long.

I love that joke.

After seeing us perform on Friday, you’ll probably say something like:
“He’s nothing without his band.” Come see proof of that pudding this
Saturday (11.3.01) at the Dawson Street Pub. I’ll play solo. So low you
can’t hear me.

I’m not as wild about that joke.

The Recap:
Friday, 11.2.01 : 10p
Grape Street Pub
105 Grape Street : Manayunk, PA
215.483.7084

with Pepper’s Ghost (their Record Release Party) and Love Syndicate
(they just party).

Saturday, 11.3.01 : 10p
Dawson Street Pub
100 Dawson Street : Manayunk, PA
215..482.5677

Alone, again (Naturally)

In all seriousness, please try to come to the Grape on Friday. I can’t
tell you why, because Scott Bricklin would make fun of me, but it would
be great to see you there.

Peace,
Jim

11.2.01 Grape Street Pub & Oops

No Comments 29 October 2001

Hi All,

Listen. Last night, when I told you all my name was Joy and I loved your
CD and wanted to know where I could see you play . . . well, it’s not
that I didn’t mean it, it’s just that, um, I accidentally forwarded an
email to the entire group. Sorry, y’all.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE GRAPE:
To make up for this glaring error, the boys and I will take the stage
this Friday (11.2.01) at the Grape Street Pub in the much maligned
Manayunk section of Philadelphia. In order to get into the spirit of my
mistake, I have renamed my band members for this show as follows:

Mike Frank will be Hope
Scott Bricklin will be Faith
Kevin Hanson will be Charity
and Erik Johnson will be Snuggle Bear

This night is the record release party for my friends, Pepper’s Ghost
and the evening opens with other friends, Love Syndicate (the Jim
Boggias will hit the stage around 10:30p), so come on out for a whole
night of damn good music.

The Recap:
Friday, 11.2.01 : 10p
Grape Street Pub
105 Grape Street : Manayunk, PA

Also on the bill:
Pepper’s Ghost Record Release Party (congratulations, boys) plus Love
Syndicate

I would really appreciate as many of you coming out as possible. Thanks
as always.

Peace,
Jim
