Boggia - 9.22.01 Dawson Street Pub/9.25.01 Grape Street Pub

No Comments 19 September 2001

Hi Friends,

Are you like me? Do you like streets? Do you like pubs? Do you like pubs
on streets?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, then how could you NOT love a
pub on a street named after the street the pub is on? You can’t, can
you?

And if THAT’S how you feel, the prospect of TWO pubs on TWO different
streets BOTH named after the streets that they’re on . . . well, it’s
almost too good to be true.

Or, should I say; TWO good to be true?
You’re right, clearly I should not have said that.

I will be playing at the Dawson Street Pub on Saturday, 9.22.01,
starting around 10p and going ’til they throw us all out (which they
will do). This will be a solo show and usually features ample amounts of
me doing my “Human Jukebox” thing, plus all the original Jim Boggia
songs that I can stand. Do not grab the mike from me at this gig, it’s
rude.

Then, on Tuesday, 9.25.01, I hastily assemble the lads (Mike Frank,
Scott Bricklin, Kevin Hanson, Erik Johnson) for a Y-100 Tuesday Night
Music Club throwdown at the Grape Street Pub, where we will play from
around 10p ’til the next band starts to play. We would keep playing, but
we don’t know any of their songs.

Boggia - 7.24.01.@ Grape Street Pub - Manayunk, PA

No Comments 17 July 2001

Good Morning,

Next Tuesday (7.24.01), the boys and I (the boys: Mike Frank, Scott
Bricklin, Erik Johnson, Kevin Hanson - I: Jim Boggia) will once again
play the Y-100 Tuesday Night Music Club. This time (7.24.01) the event
(Y-100 Tuesday Night Music CLub) will take place at its new location
(Grape Street Pub), instead of its former site (not the Grape Street
Pub).

With the move to a new venue (Grape Street Pub), the Y-100 Tuesday Night
Music Club (the event) has changed in several ways. To prepare you (your
name here) for this (the change), I (Jim Boggia) have helpfully included
a list of differences (things which have changed).

* We will no longer play in front of large screen TVs showing Sports
action completely unrelated to the music. This will help you be less
confused about why ‘Annie Also Ran’ has a video featuring the women of
the WNBA.

* The soundman sits at the same level as the band and audience. This
will allow you to be in the “sweet spot” without having to suspend
yourself 12 feet in the air. Additionally, far less people will be
injured from being knocked over when they stand too close to the bass
bins, which are no longer way too loud because the soundman is no longer
12 feet up in the air.

* No air hockey table right next to the stage. This will prevent you
from having to listen to 64th note triplet “Puck solos” in the quiet
sections of songs.

* Y-100 host Dan Fein looks twice as sexy in the flattering stage
lighting of the Grape. Strangely, Mike Frank and myself look the same as
always.

The Recap:

Tue., 7.24.01 - 10p
Grape Street Pub - Manayunk, PA
105 Grape St.
215.483.7084

Y-100 Tuesday Night Music Club

Also appearing: Stargazer Lily and Mississippi Blacksnake.

Yes, change is hard. But together maybe we can get through it.

Hope to see you there,
Jim

BOGGIA - Amnesty Int’l Benefit 5.6.01 @ Brownie’s 23 East

No Comments 30 April 2001

Hello Again,

Welcome to Episode Two of my 5.01.01 E-mail Trilogy.

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL BENEFIT:
Even though my persecution and extortion by the Canadian government
throughout 1999-2000 did not quite reach the threshold of human rights
violation that Amnesty gets involved in, it was still comforting for me
to know that they existed when the Customs officials repeatedly said
to me:

“That’ll be $250 dollars, American.”

So, as repayment for the peace of mind they provided, this Sunday
(5.6.01), I’ll be playing a full band set as part of the Amnesty
International Benefit being held at Brownie’s 23 East. This is an ALL
AGES show and features a lot of great bands (I’ll be playing guitar with
Ben Arnold’s band, the other groups will
be smart enough to not let me onstage with them).

Remember, one country’s misdemeanor is another country’s felony.

The Recap:
Sunday, May 6, 2001
Brownie’s 23 East
23 E. Lancaster Avenue - Ardmore, PA
(610) 649-8389
