Thursday, 3.7.02 : Hoboken, NJ

No Comments 04 March 2002

Hi All,

I’m headed out to Hoboken, NJ this Thursday (3.7.02) for a Writer’s Hang
at the Goldhawk Bar, beginning at 8:30p.

The Writer’s Hang is the critically acclaimed series hosted by Scott E.
Moore that features songwriters singing and (gasp!) talking about their
songs. I will offer such tantalizing insights as “This song is in C
sharp minor” and “I wrote this one on guitar,” perhaps even “I wrote
this one on guitar, it’s in C sharp minor.” Scott E. Moore should in no
way be confused with Scotty Moore, who was Elvis’s guitar player.
Rumours that Scott E. Moore was once the guitarist for El Vez (the Latin
Elvis) remain at this time unconfirmed.

Also joining the festivities will be mucho talented Phil Roy. Phil Roy
should not be confused with Sigfried and Roy, which, believe you me, is
a whole other thing altogether. I don’t think anyone has actually been
confused by that, but if Scott E. asks him “so, where’s the tigers?,”
we’ll know he didn’t get this email.

Voorhees, NJ : 1.20.02 : Coffee Works

No Comments 16 January 2002

Hi All,

Well, this Sunday (1.20.02) you could:

a: Sit on your couch watching football and eating pretzels

or

b: Sit on a chair watching me and drinking coffee.

While the choice may seem obvious at first, consider the hidden danger
lurking in choice A. Do you really want to have to tell your family,
friends and co workers “Yup, just like the Parsident! Got caught right
in my throat. When I woke up, the dog and the Vice President were
standing over me, both panting hopefully.”

No. Clearly you don’t want THAT.

So, as a public service, I will perform this Sunday at Coffee Works
Roasterie and Brew House in Voorhees, NJ. I’ll start around 7p and play
a couple of sets, during which I will also give a scintillating lecture
on the merits and proper technique of mastication. You won’t want to
miss it.

Even if you’re the Parsident.

The Recap:
Sunday, 1.20.02 : 7p

Upcoming:

Friday, 2.01.02 : 8p

Hope to see you there.

Peace,
Jim

Hi Folks,

This Tuesday (10.9.01), I’ll be playing 2 shows to benefit the Red Cross
at Cafe Eclectic in Montclair, NJ. The shows are at 8p and 10p, they’re
ALL AGES, and I’ll be playing with Cafe Eclectic legend, Robert
Matarazzo.

This show is close enough for my New York City friends to make, so if
you’ve been waiting for a nyc appearance, this is just like that, except
it’s in Jersey. It will also be the 61st anniversary of the birth of
John Lennon, so you can expect me to go into my Lennon jukebox mode a
bit as well.

Then on Thursday (10.11.01), I return to the Pontiac Grille for a bit of
a late show. I’ll hit the stage around 11:15, other acts include Bob
Lowery and others other than me and Bob.

There have been a couple of changes recently at the Pontiac, so here’s
what to expect:

a) I will no longer have to get into a fight with the soundman.

and

b) If you like cola products, be sure to ask for PEPSI, not coke.

I look forward to the opportunity to mildly entertain you.
